Ellen Degeneres' Path from A Wrist Band Pager to Inspirational Icon

May 16, 2012
I love Ellen.  And when this clip came along, I knew I had to share it with y'all.

It is a great reminder that every step you take is leading you somewhere, even if you can't see how all the dots are connected.  So many people that I talk to are afraid of taking the wrong step.  And my advice to them (which I learned by having to assign it to my own path) is to just take a step, any step.  The forward movement will propel you forward, and it will get you on the track you need to be going on, even if it doesn't look like it.

Did Ellen think that by doing a US West commercial, it would result in a TV talk show where she could help, entertain, and inspire millions of people?  Of course not.  But it did.

So watch this 3 min clip, and allow a few more possibilities for yourself...

And, lets take a second and enjoy the wrist strap pager & gigantic cell phone.  Oh, the 90s.

It's time to declutter your life!

May 11, 2012
That's right, m'dears.  I have a sneaking suspicion that you have WAY too much going on in your life.  And it is really clogging things up, leaving you no room for the joy or passion that needs to find some space to take root.

So.  Try this.

Make a list of...

  • Your Work: jobs & volunteer
    • Include your volunteer work, the things you do only occasionally, as well as, of course, your regular job
  • Your Peeps: friends & family
    • The ones you see all the time, the ones you wish you saw more, and everything ...

Are You Filling Up Your Life with Drama or Stress?

April 5, 2012

What if each one of us has a threshold for a certain amount of drama in our lives? I like to imagine a bucket, with a line around the inside which indicates the water, or really drama, line.  So that, as the drama level in our lives go down lower than our mark, we look around for more drama to fill that bucket up with.

I'm sure you know people like this.  That always have to be in a state of drama, and will look around and create some more when they are running low.  Well, we are all like th...

Your Weakness Is Your Strength

March 26, 2012
A little secret about me.  That is not too secret.  I talk.  A lot.  I'm a real little chatterbox.

I always have been, ever since I was a child.  One favorite family story:  it's open house day, and my parents come in to my first grade class room.  All the desks are grouped together in islands of 4 or 5 desks.  And then, off to the side, is one solitary desk.  I bring my parents over to that desk, and proudly exclaim, "This is my desk!  I have a visiting problem!".

And so it has always been.

It ...

What's on Your Basket List?

March 24, 2012

An idea struck me the other night.  We all know about Bucket Lists, things to do before you die.  They are great, helping to assure that on your death bed you won't sit back and think "what if"...

But the thought came to me: what would I be happy to look back on in life if I died right now?  Perhaps, by examining these life events, they could spur us forward to more wonderful adventures.  Perhaps they could show us the power that we each have to make magic in our lives.

Hence, the Baske...

You Are Better Than You Think

March 21, 2012
This message is for you.  Yep, if you are reading this, than the following applies.

You are better than you think.

You have those judgements in your head.  Judgements that try to put you in your place.  They think they are helping you, making you a better person, by pointing out your flaws so you know where to grow.

The only problem is: they're wrong.

In psychology, there is a diagnosis called body dysmorphic disorder.  Simply put, people who have this disorder don't see what everyone else sees w...

How to Feel Brighter, Happier, and More Energetic in Just One Minute!

March 19, 2012
I'm the type of person who absorbs others energy, and can get quite drained or worn out pretty regularly.  One of the side effects of being a physical intuitive.  I make others feel great by taking on their junk, but end up feeling a bit crappy myself.  I always knew that I needed to find out how to clear out my energy, and "drink" from the energy that the Universe provides.  Problem was, I just couldn't figure out how to do that - though I did develop a few good practices on how to protect m...

My Man Friday

March 2, 2012

I recently ran across this post from an old blog of mine, and wanted to share it here.  Poor Mikey, I've really been neglecting him, and I think it is time to dust him off and put him to work.  I've even put a task list up called "delegated to manager".  So he better Get Busy.  Don't know what I'm talking about?  Read on, dear reader....

So I've been listening to a lot of Law of Attraction stuff lately, specifically Abraham-Hicks stuff.  I mean, how new-agey can you get?  Not only talking ab...

Take The Next Step

February 23, 2012

Yesterday, on my way in to my old job, I passed by a church that always has some clever or insightful saying on their billboard.  I'll be honest, I always like checking out the sign, seeing what it has to say, because secretly I think it is a message from the Universe just for me.  But this time, I think it was for you, too.

"It is not important what you do.  It is important what you do next."

Indeed.  Thank you Universe.

Did you get that?  It's perfect.

So often we get stuck in our own muck, a...

Bringing You Your Fashion Fairy God Mother

February 22, 2012
\

I need to give a shout out to my girl Carina.

First.  Let's start with her name.  Carina Van Son.  Can it really get any more delicious than that?  no.  It can't.  This is exactly the kind of name that you want to have stick a hand in how you present yourself to the world, and make it all better.

Carina is a fashion maven.  She's also a writer.  She is the fashion editor and blogs for KissFM, has her own blog trimcarina.blogspot.com, and writes the monthly blog feature Stay Classy at GirlPower...
